The Halifax Kennel Club was incorporated by the Nova Scotia Legislature on April 6th, 1944. It has 89 Members boasting 21 Life Members.

We hold two sets of conformation and obedience shows each year - in February and September.  Our Drill Team works around the year within the greater HRM area visiting seniors homes and care facilities along with putting on demonstrations for the general public.  

HKC Members are involved in many dog sports: Conformation, Obedience, Rally Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Drafting, Freestyle and are equally committed to community work through service with their dogs as Therapy Dogs.  Many HKC dogs have Canine Good Neighbour and Temperament Test designations.
