![]() For more than 25 years, Mark Grant has participated in various roles as a dog enthusiast in his community. Mark currently serves on the Executive of the Halifax Kennel Club (HKC) and coordinates the HKC’s All Breed Dog Shows and Trials, in addition to several other dog shows in the region each year. When he is not busy with the HKC, Mark is sharing his knowledge and passion with the Canine Association of Nova Scotia where he serves as vice president. Mark finds himself partial to larger dog breeds, particularly Saint Bernards. One of his previous Saints, “Hercules,” was the only Saint Bernard to earn a Grand Champion title thanks to Mark’s successful campaigning in both Obedience and Conformation in purebred dog shows. His current Saint Bernard, “Roc,” is both a certified therapy and show dog. When he is not volunteering at HKC dog shows, visiting long-term care facilities, or helping children improve their reading skills with one of his Saints through the Therapeutic Paws of Canada “Paws to Read Program,” Mark is sharing his passion with his fellow Saint Bernard lovers as the President of The Saint Fanciers of Canada.
