I'm Gayle MacLean and have been involved with dogs and shows since the late 1970's when I joined the United Kennel Club in Montreal. I bought my 1st English Springer Spaniel, "Toby", in 1981 & later registered my kennel name, Duart.

Duart was always a small kennel, all dogs being house pets as well as showdogs. Duart produced a number of champions, and obedience titlists, including BIS & BPIS winners and a National Top Obedience award winner.

Though, I am not breeding dogs at this time, I am still very much involved with the show dog world, and am an active member of the Halifax Kennel Club, CKC, English Springer Spaniel Club Of Canada, English Springer Rescue Canada, DLCC and am an associate member of the English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Association (US Parent Club).

At this time I have one Springer at home, "Dash", the treasure of both myself and my hubby, Wayne.

I have held several positions on the executive of the HKC, Social & Education and I can usually be seen working at the HKC shows in various capacities.

I feel so fortunate to be able to partake in such a wonderful and nurturing hobby that has allowed me such personal growth. Having the opportunity to share my life with dogs and the friends and contacts I have made along the way has taught me much & will always be one of my life's highlights.
