I am owned by several Curly Coated Retrievers. I have only recently come to dog shows in spite of always having dogs, (usually part Labs).

In 2003, I acquired my first Curly, a re-home named Rica. In 2005, I purchased a liver puppy in Maine, whom I called Magda. Magda was the start of something I never expected, I made the decision to show her some, as people were stopping me asking “What kind of dogs are they, if they are labradoodles, I just have to have one”.

Magda has a place in the history of the Curly Coated Retriever Club of America, as she became Best of Winners at the club’s 2007 National Specialty in Wisconsin. She is now AKC/CKC/CFC Ch Cobbossee’s Magda Worden WC JH. (We hope to show some rally and maybe get involved in agility, as well as have another litter.)

I am presently the Education Director of Halifax Kennel Club, the Secretary of Eastern Flyways Hunting Retriever Club, as well as a member of the Curly Coated Retriever Club of America.  The breed is rare in Canada and presently does not have a National Club.

Shaya, Laketower Brilliant Disguise is Magda's daughter by Can/Am Ch  Jangio's Lightning Bug CD, RN, CGC, ROM. Shaya is currently working on her championship, having three group placements by the time she was  twenty-one months.
